I have 4 years teaching Math and Science; mainly Physics, privately and in a tuition centre. I believe in enabling students to allow them to understand the concepts and theories, instead of remembering them. This can be done through various ways such as real life applications or explaining a concept using analogies. After understanding, practice is definitely required especially for subjects such as Math so I believe in independent work done to check for understanding and internalization. I make and provide smart notes for students as a summary and a checklist for concepts taught and internalized by them. This helps students who are struggling as they are able to focus on their misconceptions and effectively work on them. I enjoy showing students that Math has applications and is not there to make their lives difficult. For example, Trigonometry is used in Triangulation whereby the location of an object is determined. I am good at diagnosing students' problem areas and from there I customise lessons to how the student thinks. I can explain the same concept in at least three different ways.
