I have been tutoring since I was sixteen years old. What started as a small hobby of providing extracurricular help for some of my IB classmates 10 years ago has gradually evolved into a full-time passion of mine that I derive deep fulfillment from. This is a time when attaining a particular grade boundary dictates whether or not they will be able to attend their dream university and begin the life they have envisioned for themselves. This hyper-fixation on academic performance is often complemented by a collective learning environment that can easily neglect the unique, subtle nuances of each individual's learning style and pace. In their quest to do well, students often find themselves navigating a teaching approach that, by necessity, prioritizes this group environment, and they end up having to find their way through topics and exams alone. This is where I can help. Having been in both the student and teacher roles of the academic experience, I have encountered the range of challenges and pitfalls that often lead to unsuccessful outcomes and, in the worst cases, a misjudgment of our own abilities and a lowering of our own potential.
