Hello, my name is Jaclyn. I grew up in Cambridge, UK since I was a young child with my family and moved to Hong Kong 4 years ago to pursue a teaching career. I have been teaching in Hong Kong for 4 years. I am a holder of a BA in English Language and Linguistics from the University of Essex in England, a MA in Psycholinguistics, also from University of Essex. I am currently reading a Postgraduate Diploma in Education as part of my career advancement.
I have taught as a NET in a band one Christian secondary school, teaching centre for pre-primary, and am currently at a local primary school. I am specialised in phonics, writing, and Cambridge English. Right now, I have 3 private students, a primary 4 and primary 2 student doing general English, a K3 student learning phonics and Cambridge Starters.
I am also qualified to teach young primary mathematics as I have a further maths module from my A-level course.

For phonics, I have my own set of materials which have proven to be highly successful for learners of all abilities. Students learn phonics through vocabulary, spelling and games.
For writing, I allow my students to expand their creativity through videos and movie clips. They can improve on their writing once they learn how to be creative in their minds and picture scenerios.
For GE, I practice materials students have from school, check homework and do reading comprehensions. Read less
