I teach mainly GCSE and A-level maths. I do sometimes teach more advanced university maths, physics, and engineering but only after close consultation with student to ensure it is a close fit. I will also consider teaching younger pupils if I feel they will benefit. I was in the local newspaper recenlty for coaching a 10 year old to a grade 8 in maths. I am patient and have an easy manner. I understand when pupils have difficulty learning. I use a mixture of books, worksheets, and my own personal experience to impart knowledge. I am also increasingly using the vast amount of quality materials that can be found on the internet. Learning is not just remembering facts, I teach students how to think and how to learn and revise. I obtain most of my students by recommendation so I must be doing something right.
