My name is Kathryn, and I am originally from Canada, but I have been living in Thailand for the last 14 years. I am an elementary teacher passionate about teaching students to read. I am trained in Orton Gillingham and recently finished working on a Master's of literacy with a focus on dyslexia. I believe all students can learn to read if taught the correct way. I believe learning should be fun and engaging for students, and it is important for the student and teacher to have a good connection. In my classes, I focus on getting to know the child and their specific needs. Learning to read should be accessible for all learners, and students should feel successful from their hard work. I tutor using an Orton Gillingham approach, which incorporates multi sensory teaching of phonics skills in a systematic way. Students will be assessed before starting sessions. Read less
