I am a late-bloomer mom and a licensed professional teacher. I use a variety of strategies and methods to teach students the skills needed to pass each part of the IELTS exam. My extensive experience, both locally and abroad, has allowed me to teach English as a second language to many nationalities across a wide range of ages and skill levels, as well as to help them acquire the necessary skills to pass the IELTS test.

I have been able to help many professional nurses pass their IELTS exams—particularly the writing and speaking tests (band 7), which are areas where most of them struggle—so they can work in the UK. I customize or tailor my methodology according to the learning styles of my students. I make it a point to get to know them, not by forcing interaction, but by developing good rapport so we can help each other.

I start with a "word of the day," which we define, understand, and use in a sentence. In this way, I am able to build their vocabulary and hopefully develop a habit of learning new words each day.

Afterward, I allow them to listen to some music or watch English movies. Read less
