Questions for You

Q: What materials do you use in your lessons?

I use my own structured Russian language course, which I have developed based on my teaching experience. It includes presentations, practical vocabulary, grammar explanations and targeted exercises, as well as original listening and reading materials created specifically for my students.

Q: Do you have any experience teaching students with my level of proficiency?

I have experience teaching students of different proficiency levels, from complete beginners to more advanced learners. It doesn’t matter if my students know anything about Russian or not — even if they don’t know a single word, I’m ready to help them.

Q: How do you help students improve their listening comprehension?

I help students improve their listening comprehension through consistent practice and real communication. I include listening tasks during lessons and also assign listening activities as homework. As students build their vocabulary and confidence, I gradually switch to Russian as our main language of communication. Because my lessons are strongly focused on speaking, students naturally learn to understand spoken Russian and feel more comfortable in real-life conversations.

Q: How do you help students improve their speaking skills?

I help students improve their speaking skills by making speaking the main focus of every lesson. Vocabulary and grammar are always practiced through speaking. Each lesson includes a short speaking activity at the start and a final task to consolidate the material through communication.

Q: How do you help students improve their writing skills?

I help students improve their writing skills through structured homework tasks and personalized practice. Writing tasks are regularly included in homework, and during lessons I can provide additional writing practice based on the student’s needs.

Q: How do you help students improve their reading comprehension?

I help students improve their reading comprehension step by step, starting from the basics. At beginner levels we focus on the alphabet, sounds and reading practice during each lesson. As students progress, reading tasks become a key part of learning vocabulary and grammar. I also include reading activities in homework, so students can continue developing their skills.

Q: How do you integrate cultural education into language lessons?

I integrate cultural education into my lessons by teaching language through real-life situations and communication. Students learn not only standard Russian, but also everyday speech. We explore how people actually speak, behave and interact, so students understand not just what to say, but how and when to say it.

Q: What is your approach to teaching grammar?

I introduce grammar step by step, starting from the basics and moving to more complex topics without rushing. Each topic is explained in details, according to the student’s level. Students first practice grammar through targeted exercises and then use it in speaking. Grammar is also reinforced through homework, and every lesson includes revision of previous material. Previously learned structures are continuously integrated into new topics, so students revise regularly what they have learned.

Q: Do you provide homework assignments?

Homework is designed to reinforce the material covered in class, including both vocabulary and grammar. Students practice through targeted exercises as well as integrated tasks such as reading, listening and writing. I can also provide additional or more focused tasks based on the student’s goals, level or specific areas they want practise.

Q: How do you personalize your lessons for individual students?

I personalize my lessons by using a structured but flexible course as a foundation. I pay close attention to each student’s learning pace, goals and comfort during the process. For me it is important that learning is not only effective, but also enjoyable, so I focus on quality rather than speed. Every student is different, so I adapt my lessons to their individual needs, giving each topic the time and attention it requires.
