Questions for You

Q: What teaching methods do you use to help students learn Math concepts and solve problems?

I used visual aids and gamification to teach math. Visuals aids are pivotal to math so that the students have a concrete understanding of the lesson. Gamification promotes active participation that allow the student to learn.

Q: Do you have experience with online teaching platforms or virtual tutoring, and what is your preferred method of communication with students?

I was a Preply tutor. I used their online classroom to deliver lessons. I am also currently teaching private students using Google Meet. I prefer Whatsapp as the method of communication with students.

Q: What Math topics or concepts are you particularly skilled in teaching, and how do you keep up to date with changes in the curriculum?

I am skilled on topics under Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Probability, particularly lessons under Primary to Secondary grade levels. I attend webinars related to teaching to ensure that I am updated with academics trend.

Q: How do you communicate with parents about their child's progress and any challenges they may be facing in learning Math?

I give regular feedback to parent about the performance and behavior of the students. I take the initiative to politely communicate with the parents if there are concerns with the students.

Q: Do you provide any additional resources or materials to supplement your lessons, such as practice exercises or online tutorials?

I do chapter test, or if necessary, exam/test, to assess level of understanding. This is also to determine if an intervention is needed.

Q: What is your approach to homework assignments, and how do you ensure students understand the concepts covered in class?

I always ask the coverage of the homework. First, I deliver the lessons and give similar or related practice problems. Thereafter, I let the student answers the homework, and we will check it together.

Q: What steps do you take to ensure that your teaching approach is compatible with the student's learning style?

I always do a trial class. During this class, I ask the student his/her grade level, topics that are easy, and he/she finds difficult.

Q: Do you have experience working with students with learning disabilities or special needs, and how do you adapt your teaching methods to accommodate their needs?

I haven't encountered yet students with learning disabilities. But if in any case I will encounter, communicating with the parent is important. I have to check the student's learning background, behaviour, and what triggers the student to misbehave.
