Hi there! I’m a writer, editor, and teacher based in Amsterdam, specialising in English language learning and writing. My background combines university-level teaching with years of professional experience in journalism, advertising writing and literary publishing, which means I bring both academic structure and practical, real-world language skills into every lesson. I believe learning should be fun, and that the possibilities of language should feel exciting rather than intimidating. The best lessons are when students feel engaged and confident, so I aim to create a relaxed environment and lessons that are genuinely interesting. Alongside teaching, I work professionally as a writer and editor. I’ve taught comparative literature and creative writing at university level, worked closely with students as senior thesis writing instructor, and spent years editing manuscripts and helping writers shape and strengthen their work. Teaching, however, has been the most rewarding part of my career. I really value helping people build confidence, organise their ideas and find their voice in English.

I am an experienced English tutor, with 2 years of tutoring under my belt. Not only do I have a Bachelors of Social Sciences from UCT, majoring in History and English, but a lifelong passion for both subjects as well as Mathematics. Although some students find difficulty or lack of interest in these subjects, I’ve learned to use creative teaching methods that are engaging and fun for the students to keep them interested and engaged while learning. Colourful and easy to read notes are included for students to look over on their own time if they need to. Each student learns in different ways, and I make sure to take this into account while forming customized lessons that will provide a deeper understanding and elevate his or her success in the subject.
