Hello! My name is Miss Anna and I am excited to be your tutor! I have been teaching students in a Kindergarten through 12th grade setting in southeastern Minnesota for over 10 years. My school is in a rural area that's not too far from the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area. I love that I get to teach students at all grade levels. My back ground is in teaching English Language Learners, but I have experience with so many content areas. My favorite subjects to teach (and learn) are: Spanish, Math, and Geography. In addition, I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I have studied Spanish in University and abroad through an exchange. My current students are Spanish-speakers so I get to use both English and Spanish on a daily basis and I love it!

Here are some non-teacher things you should know about me:
I love to play piano and flute; so if you need help with your music classes, I can help with that too! I also really enjoy traveling and visiting new places. I've been to all 50 states and now am trying to go to all the U.S. State Capitals, all the Canadian Provinces, and all the Mexican states. My other hobbies are crocheting and being creative with wood projects.

One thing that I feel is important when teaching is giving students choice & voice. To me, this means giving students a chance to have choices and options for ways they would like to learn & also some choice in how they show what they have learned. I also think it's important to select topics/themes that the student cares about or is interested in & use that as a venue for teaching the necessary content. Making connections between what students and enjoy and what they need to learn is important. Read less
