My name is Teodor Mihail, and I speak four languages: English, Romanian, Spanish, and French. I have a Certificate of Proficiency in Spanish and French, and Romanian is my first language. Ever since my first Spanish course in college, learning languages has been a passion of mine. Throughout my studies, I've realized that simply learning grammar and vocabulary is not enough and can be difficult to retain. I use effective methods and a variety of resources to make language learning easy and interesting for you when you take lessons with me. From building a solid foundation to progressing with confidence and retaining what you've learned, learning a new language will be easier than you imagined.

I have been tutoring academic English and English as a Second Language (ESL) for seven years. With a background in dramatic arts, I strive to make our classes fun and engaging. I prioritize ensuring that my sessions are worthwhile, positive, and full of value. I am skilled at assisting my students with organizational skills, homework, test preparation, and assignments. I do not simply provide answers to my students, but instead, I teach them how to ask questions that will lead them to find the answers themselves. In the absence of assignments or homework, I rely on lesson plans that start by introducing the topic in a fun and interesting manner. Then, I allow ample time for my students to practice relevant questions and ask any inquiries they might have.

Hello, I'm Drew! I live in Buffalo, New York. The main subjects I teach are ESL, Biology, History, Earth Science, Math, and English. I graduated as valedictorian of my high school class, and in college I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Geosciences, and a minor in Geological Sciences. I have also completed a 168 hour TEFL certification for ESL teaching, which has provided me with extensive professional teaching knowledge and experience. I have always had an excellent work ethic and organizational system for succeeding in school, which I can help pass on to any student. I grew up as the second oldest in a family of seven, and always helped tutor my siblings in all subjects. My educational background in environmental geosciences and geological sciences has provided me with sufficient knowledge in general biology and chemistry, as well as biological and earth sciences. After graduating from college, I got my current job as an online ESL tutor, teaching English to Chinese children ages four to 12. Not only has this job given me valuable teaching experience, I also now feel comfortable evaluating students, providing feedback, and actively changing my methodology to fit their learning needs. Working for the UB STEP Summer Program, I was responsible for planning my own lessons in Earth Science. Because of personal hobbies, I am also very knowledgable in History and English, and I also feel comfortable teaching Math.
