My name is Paul. I have previously worked as a Math and Physics Tutor (4+ years experience) with the NASA Scholars Program in Los Angeles, tutoring College and High School students(+test prep; SAT, GED, ASVAB, ACT, CSET, GMAT, MCAT, DAT, GRE). I have assisted Undergraduate(UCLA, USC, SMC, LMU, CSUN, Cal State LB, Lafayette University, Brown University, Harvard, University of Texas, University of Miami, Boston University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, University of Colorado, NYU, Vanderbilt, UC-Berkeley, Yale and others) and Graduate(MBA to Phd) students(5+ years experience) in STATISTICS, SPSS/STATA/PROGRAMMING DATA ANALYSIS for dissertations and Data/Business Consulting for organizations/startups. I have strong backgrounds in Math and Architecture.I completed 2 and 1/2 years of Architecture at the Los Angeles Institute of Architecture and Design in Fall 2004. In Spring 2004 I was the recipient of a student competition award from the American Institute of Architects at the A-D Museum in West Hollywood. I enrolled at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona-CAL POLY- to complete Majors in Architecture and MATH; and received the Don Leiffer award for excellence in Math at West LA College(spring 2005). To Whom It May Concern, I decided to tutor part time for the same reason I decided to become an engineer. I love learning and troubleshooting. If you want to excel in a subject, you have to discover what you like about it. My approach focuses on helping people succeed through small incremental victories. This is how we get learning back to being rewarding and fun! I developed this process for learning when I was studying Industrial Engineering at USC. I took math and math oriented classes all 4 years including courses such as Calculus II, Probability, Linear Algebra & Statistics. Some of my accomplishments in math include: receiving a 5 out of 5 on the AP Calculus test, scoring a 790 out of 800 on the math portion of the SAT, making the dean's list at USC and receiving the highest score on a Calculus II midterm in a class of 50 students. Needless to say, I know algebra like the back of my hand! Before I went to USC I would regularly volunteer as a math tutor to other students at San Luis Obispo High School. It was so rewarding to hear students share how I had taken the stress out of homework and ultimately helped them pass their classes! Learning has always been a passion of mine whether it was alone or in a group. I appreciate the opportunity to teach again and look forward to hearing how I can assist you! I work with children who have learning disabilities. I have to figure out a way to make sure that they understand the information being presented. I understand that all students do understand the same. Some students need options in doing a problem. I will do a problem differently as many times as I need to so that you understand. As an educator I want all my students to understand that it is okay to say that they are confused. I am there to help them.

I have homeschooled my child from grade 1-4. She's starting the 5th grade on a 7th grade level. I received an academic scholarship for the Krannert School of Management, at Purdue University, West Lafayette, when I was 17 years old. I have shown academic excellence ever since. If you need math help, I can get you back on track. There is no problem that can't be solved. We will find the answer together.
