Hi, I'm Russ! I have been learning Mandarin Chinese for over 15 years, and I am currently in the last semester of my Master's in Chinese Education program at CUNY Queens College. I have advanced spoken and written proficiency in Mandarin, certified by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). As someone who learned Chinese as a young adult, I understand the challenges and issues faced by native English speakers. If you are looking for a traditional way of learning or perfecting English i.e. long (boring )readings, grammar police tactics and monotonous repetition of phrases and words you'll probably never use again in life then you're in the wrong place. I'm sure you're interested in my academic background so I'm happy to share. I have obtained a degree in Communications from the Fashion Institute of Technology. I studied TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages ) and obtained my certificate from the Canadian Institute of English. I've studied 40 methods ensuring my ability to assist others as they tackle the task of comprehensively speaking, reading and writing the English language. I'm really interested in helping others to do the best that they can PERSONALLY do when it comes to conversational English. We all have different learning styles and different needs.
