Questions for You

Q: What teaching methods do you use to help students learn Math concepts and solve problems?

For tutoring, I employ Socratic method where I try to make students understand concepts through question and answer. Aside from me asking leading questions, I encourage students to ask questions related to what they would want to clarify.

Q: Do you have experience with online teaching platforms or virtual tutoring, and what is your preferred method of communication with students?

I have experience teaching thru online platforms but I prefer google meet th most since I can easily share my screen and demonstrate to students solutions to problem solving situations.

Q: What Math topics or concepts are you particularly skilled in teaching, and how do you keep up to date with changes in the curriculum?

I am most adept with high school mathematics particularly that of the higher grade levels since I am an experienced high school maths teacher. Currently, I am handling senior high school math subjects - General Mathematics, Precalculus, Business Mathematics, Statistics and Probability, and Basic Calculus. I am up to date with changes in the curriculum since I am currently teaching in an exclusive school for girls which offers in service trainings and ipdating for teachers.

Q: How do you communicate with parents about their child's progress and any challenges they may be facing in learning Math?

I usually communicate with parents through email and set appointments for in person meetings to discuss their children's performance in math.

Q: Do you provide any additional resources or materials to supplement your lessons, such as practice exercises or online tutorials?

I direct students to OERs (online educational resources) that I myself have tried using and answering.

Q: What is your approach to homework assignments, and how do you ensure students understand the concepts covered in class?

I do reteaching of lessons to ensure complete understanding of concepts covered in class before asking students to asnwer exercises and assignments. Then, I check their work and do revisions ensuring that they do not commit the same mistakes again.

Q: What steps do you take to ensure that your teaching approach is compatible with the student's learning style?

I ask students from time to time to evaluate my teaching style if it fits their needs and make necessary changes whenever needed.

Q: Do you have experience working with students with learning disabilities or special needs, and how do you adapt your teaching methods to accommodate their needs?

So far, I do not have experience teaching students with special needs.
