I ask the student or parent for examples of the student's work from home and school.

I focus primarily on teaching students Illustration and Comics. I teach students illustration fundamentals, such as Value, Form, etc. I concentrate the lessons around the student's interests - such as if a student is keen on Comics, I teach them how to create it from start to finish.

Q: How do you teach students to use different art materials such as pencils, paint, and clay?

Mixing experimentation with guidance can help students create great ideas and outcomes. Each medium serves its purpose in expressing creativity, and it can also help integrate with other mediums - such as a clay sculpture can be a great reference for observational drawing.

Q: What strategies do you use to teach students to create different art styles such as realism, impressionism, and abstract art?
