Dear Sir / Madam / Student, Teaching has two aspects, knowing the subject and delivering relevant knowledge to attendees. A teacher must be open to learning and only then can he push others down the same lane. Teaching Accounting at both Undergraduate and Secondary levels has thoroughly refined my knowledge and command over the subject. Addressing questions from students at both levels is a constructive experience. Consider an academic session that starts from the very basic concepts of Double Entry book keeping and ends with the preparation of Financial Statements (including Consolidated Statements for Groups). I am expected to cover virtually all aspects of Financial and Cost / Management Accounting in my lectures. Faculty is also required to design challenging assignments, conduct presentations & group activities and set tough term papers. The CFA credentials have not only given me core and detailed knowledge over the subject of Finance, the program entails developing high quality analytical skills. These skills should be transferred to students who are to compete in a dynamic environment. Financial Analysis has to be supplemented with Accounting knowledge. One must understand the data he is expected to analyze. The job of a teacher is to show the way and make it as easy as possible for students to follow it.
