Hi. I am Jan Leibovitz Alloy. Am an editor, writer, and tutor, working primarily with high school students on English, reading, and writing. I have also taught English and Interpersonal Communications at the college level. Have taught preschools as well and love to work one-on-one with students who love to learn. I have written two books, including a historical field guide to Michigan, and currently am editing short stories and a nonfiction book for publication.

I have experience teaching English to children and adults In Canada and overseas and am passionate about creative writing and reading. I have a Bachelors degree from the University of Victoria and have taught reading comprehension, creative writing, and academic writing to both children and adults. I teach the basics of English grammar, reading, sentence structure, editing, essay structure and more. Aside from tutoring, I am currently completing a Fine Arts Studio program and reconnecting with my family and friends in Toronto. In my spare time I train in contemporary dance and go for hikes outside the city.

Rose Stanley is a writer, artist, published poet, and a seasoned English teacher of 20+ years. Her work with urban students and the surrounding community on a “Poetry Slam” earned her the teacher of the year award in 2001. She also teaches theatre and production to high school continuation students and has produced 4 plays at the local high school level. When she isn’t writing or teaching, she loves spending time painting, working on DIY projects, and enjoying time with her family, and very spoiled dog. She is currently working on her 2nd novel. Hello! I am a full-time business student at the University of Southern California and currently spending a year at HKUST. I am based in Tseung Kwan O. My native language is English and my education has always been in English as I grew up in Canada. I am most confident tutoring English skills—from pronunciation to grammar to reading. In high school, I received a full score of 5 on AP English Literature and Composition and in 1st year university, I excelled in a 3rd year writing class. I have two Licentiate diplomas from the London College of Music and Trinity Guildhall in Speech & Drama, with over 4 years of competitive public speaking and performance arts experience. I also speak Cantonese with my family at home. My name is Katy and I have been teaching English to students of all levels and ages for the past nine years. Hello! I previously worked as a playgroup and an English teacher at recognized learning centers in Hong Kong and I am currently freelancing. I absolutely miss working with children and I happen to have time in the morning to help with your kid/s' phonics, reading and writing! As an experienced teacher, I've learned to be engaging and patient, as well as to find the child's weakness and focus my teaching on that. Aside from that, I will communicate with your child in a clear and concise manner to help him familiarize with the English language and further gain confidence in his English speaking skills :) I am available to teach online in the mornings! My favorite style of teaching [English] is to create a fun, relaxed learning environment where I incorporate games or activities to increase confidence in the classroom and keep students motivated to learn! Hi I'm Hannah and I've been in the classroom for 8 years. I am a qualified Early Years teacher and I have tutored pre-primary and primary aged children for the last 8 years. I am dedicated to growing my teaching skills so I am always looking to expand my knowledge and abilities through trying new ways of approaching subjects in the classroom or with your child. I follow their interests while providing support in all the important developmental areas. With the younger students, I focus on social-emotional, fine motor, literacy and numeracy development. With the primary students, I combine their interests with their English curriculum at school and I also do novel studies. I'm located on Hong Kong Island but I am willing to travel.
