Fernando Basto I am an EFL teacher, with almost 27 years post-CELTA teaching experience in both Portugal, the UK,Malaysia and currently in Thailand. Throughout my time as a teacher I have continued to develop my skills by attending and taking part in staff development training. I have also had the responsibility for the content and design of some courses. I was a teacher at the British Council for 20 years. I am always endeavouring to improve my teaching skills and enjoy the challenge of making my lessons both an enjoyable and effective learning experience. During my time teaching EFL in Portugal and the UK I taught both young learners from 11 to 18 and adults from beginner to advanced and, as a result, understood the different approaches required. In addition, I always take different learning styles into account when planning my lessons, and adapt my materials accordingly.
