My name is Blaise Draper, I am a qualified teacher from South Africa, currently working at a (soon to be) IB accredited International School called “Kunming World Youth Academy”. I received my BA Humanities degree and PGCE qualifications from Stellenbosch University. Although I have loved working in China and my job, as well as the school, I feel the location of the school has been an increasing challenge for me. I am dedicated, hard-working, and eager to learn. I believe that for the teacher; teaching and learning are synonymous. I am continuously looking for new ways to develop my lessons, which I know need to continuously be adapted and changed to cater to the diversity within a class. I have lived and studied abroad for almost ten years. I graduated from the University of California, Riverside for my bachelor's degree. I obtained my double master's degree at Hong Kong Baptist University. I have several years of experience in tutoring English and other subjects in Europe, the United States, and Hong Kong. Prior to my tutoring, some Hong Kong students struggled with their English scores. However, after a semester of my tutoring, their scores in the fifth-grade examination ranked eighth in the entire school. There are also middle school students in Hong Kong who used to score only 20 or 30 points in their English exams, but after a semester of tutoring, their scores improved to around 70 points. Additionally, I have experience tutoring other international students in France. Many of them would ask me to review their English papers after writing them and seek advice. Furthermore, I have taught TOEFL in France as well.
