I graduated from Newcastle University in 2010 with a 2.1 in English Literature. After that? I qualified as a teacher in 2012 and have since worked in the UK and internationally. I have recently located back to the UK and have some availability for tutoring. In my post recent post, I worked as a Deputy Head Teacher with responsibility for curriculum. I specialise in the teaching of all core subjects but am particularly passionate about the teaching of phonics, reading and writing. I have worked with many students for SAT preparation and other statutory assessments. I am available for home tutoring in local areas, but available for online tutoring nationwide. Depending on the student's needs, tutoring may be delivered one to one or as part of a group session.

My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves.
