My name is Dikchita and I graduated from Sha Tin College ESF in 2017 with the IB curriculum. I then graduated from the University of Essex (in the UK) in 2022 with a degree in financial economics and accounting. I have also just completed my Masters Degree in Business and Finance at the University of Warwick. In the past, I have volunteered in teaching English at a local secondary school to form 4 students for a year. I have had extensive experience working with children as I have been tutoring kids (from K1- Year 13) in English, Maths, Economics, General Studies, Sciences, and arts and craft for 10 years. For English, I support students in creative writing, Trinity exam preparation, oral speaking, phonics, Cambridge Starters/Movers/Flyers (my students have achieved full shields), reading comprehension, storytelling, and more. I also provide tailored worksheets and personalized practice materials to match each student’s learning needs. My fees depend on the level of study and the subjects. I provide in-person lessons in Hong Kong as well as online lessons (where my rates are lower than in person).

I am currently a student at HKBU, Journalism ( Year 2). Being a Journalism student, I am well equipped with great writing skills, communication skills as well. I can get along with all of my students quickly because it is important to have a sense of trust towards a stranger who will kind of be responsible for your education for a while right. I am a Hong Kong born Indian, and I can speak fluent Cantonese and English, which is another factor that allows all my students, local students especially to pick up what I am trying to teach really quick. Contrary to popular opinion, I do believe that incorporating your mother tongue to the language you are trying to improve will be very beneficial for you. I allow all my students to use Cantonese as well as English while we are learning, of course i set up strict rules on the quota as well. Creative writing, language speaking, phonics , pronunciation and much more. Anything about English I can handle, as i did get a 5* IN MY DSE 2019. I use a variety of methods such as games OR IPADS to kind of make the lesson more fun to students. I believe a lesson should be a long education activity, and a teacher should be a funny mentor. Apart from English, I teach some students accents as well, for example British or American accents, and I have noticed that most of my students have developed really nice accents which just rolls of their tongue really good. I am Judy Ann Juria Escalo, an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher from the Philippines. I am a dedicated educator, wife, and mother of two. Since 2019, I have been passionately teaching English to students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, majoring in English, and have completed professional certifications including TEFL, TESOL, and a C1 English proficiency qualification. Additionally, I have earned academic units towards a Master’s Degree in Education, majoring in English. Throughout my teaching journey, I have guided learners from various countries in developing their communication skills, enhancing fluency, and building confidence in using English for academic, professional, and everyday purposes.
