I am a former international school student born in Hong Kong and raised between Hong Kong, Beijing, and New York. After graduating from Columbia University with a degree in Political Science and Economics, I joined the Teach For America program (against the wishes of my parents who had hoped I'd go into finance) and taught a variety of subjects including mathematics, chemistry, and biology. I also ran my school's after-school SAT tutoring program. As an educator, my background is in High School special education and Middle School general education. But where my strength lies is in my ability to help students understand their goals and how best to achieve them. I empathize with the high pressure and results-oriented environment students have to perform in, especially in Hong Kong, and try my best to approach all my lessons with this in mind. I attended an American International School in Thailand from kindergarten to grade 12, and later obtained an Engineering Degree from an International program at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok. Currently, I am an International School Teacher in Middle School Maths (Grades 6-8) and have been teaching since 2019.
