Q: What areas of Chemistry do you specialize in, and what level of Chemistry do you usually teach?

Hi, I usually teach Grade 11 and 12 Chemistry. By that I mean, the British Columbia and Ontario, Canada, curriculum. However, my tutoring is tailored to the program you are studying.

Q: What types of resources or technology do you use to support your Chemistry lessons?

I often have former tests from teachers. I love the Hebden workbook for it's great examples and range of questions.

Q: How do you approach teaching Chemistry concepts to students who may struggle with Chemistry?

Chemistry often comes down to simpler concepts that students already know. We can start from there and build toward what they are trying to understand.

Q: Do you have experience with laboratory experiments, and how do you incorporate these into your Chemistry lessons?

Help with labs is highly specific to the classroom teacher's requirements, so my help with these is case by case.

Q: What is your approach to teaching organic chemistry, and how do you make the subject engaging and accessible for students?

Organic chemistry is very systematic. We start with simple concepts, then, as the student masters these, we can build with the next one, and so on, until they can see the entire chemical formula is given by the name, and the name of the chemical tells you the chemical formula.

Q: How do you help students prepare for chemistry competitions, college applications, or other academic opportunities in chemistry?

This usually doesn't come up with me and my students.
