My name is Lea and I'm a US college student, currently residing in Berlin (Mitte) while conducting my studies remotely. For as long as I can remember, I have had a love for writing and oral debate. In the past, I have won prizes for my achievements both in literary expression in English (grand prize) and German (Scheffel award). From growing up in Germany to living in California, I have maintained a special focus on the English language, whether in written expression or oral debate. I have been teaching both English and German for years now which has provided me with valuable experience as an educator of high school students and adults alike. I'm a passionate learner myself and love to share what I can with my students to help them achieve their goals. I have 6+ years of experience in teaching and working with Special Educational Needs student at a different level. In this duration I spent one and a half year teaching in Great Britain in a state school with one to one Special Educational Needs student (EBD, ADHD) and also as a Teaching Assistant in Year 1 and Year 2. Currently working as a volunteer in a German State school in Schonefeld (Teach English in class 2 and 3) Teaching English to adults in a Language school (LEARBARBORASA) from June till date I also have the experience of teaching English in a Community Project in Berlin(Helping in the preparation on Mittlerer Schulabschluss exam) for 3 months(February 2019 to May 2019) In this duration of the last 6+ years of experience, my key area of focus are • commitment to working with pupils with Special Needs. • communication and Interpersonal skills. • ability to manage challenging behavior. • organisational skills. • develop and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils. • use special equipment or cards such as computers or NOW and THEN cards to stimulate interest in learning. • being creative and innovative • guide and monitor the pupil’s progress.
