I have been a tutor in online platform Skooli for nearly 3 years already, and currently teaching students from an American Curriculum school. I helped them quickly increase their MAP test! I am a holder of a BSc Honors degree in Mathematical Statistics, which I completed with 5 distinctions and an average of 75%. During my time in university, I entered the world of tutoring and served as an Economics tutor. In 2021, I formally registered my own company. Since April 2022, I have been working on the business full-time.

I am a flexible teacher who loves to teach students. I am a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education majoring in Math. Currently, I am teaching Math for grades 7-12.

People are different. We learn in different ways and at different speeds. That is why I prioritize my learners interests and abilities in order to best teach them. I adjust to the learners ability and speed, forming lessons in a way in which the learner processes and retains information best. Mathematics can be a challenging subject for many students. I believe that every child has unique learning needs and for this reason I focus on taking students back to a level with which they are comfortable and then filling in the gaps from there. This leads to improvement and success and with success comes renewed confidence in the ability to tackle more difficult mathematical concepts and problems. Using visual, animated, practical and interactive technology-based tools, I show students how Mathematics applies to them in their world. By asking students probing questions, rather than simply showing them how to answer the question, I help students develop their own problem-solving skills. This leads to independence and greater confidence in their abilities. With increased confidence comes improvement and success. I have been teaching high school Mathematics for many years and have provided tutoring services to my students as part of my support for their learning. I have taught all levels of Mathematics, from years 7 to 13, and have deep experience with university pathway Mathematics. I provide purely online services. As a result, I am available at any time that students find helpful and physical location is not significant. It is important to understand that you can learn a lot of maths in a very short period of time. It doesn’t matter where you start, you can get to where you want or need to be. I’m confident that I can help you achieve your goals.

I have been teaching science and math to secondary students for more than 4 years. My speciality areas are high school chemistry, primary and secondary mathematics, and IB math essays.

My name is Khirunisa Pillay and I am a 2nd-year medical student who achieved 7 As in matric. I am originally from Durban and am currently studying at the University of Pretoria. I have a deep love for volunteer work and testing out new recipes in the kitchen.
