Fragen an Sie

Apart from being a Cambridge Examiner, I have 15 years experience with a multitude of Exam Boards. I teach students preparing for a range of international curricula and exams, including: Exam Boards: - Cambridge Assessment International Education (IGCSE, A-Level) - International Baccalaureate (IBDP) - Cambridge English (YLE, KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE) - IELTS Preparation Year Groups: - Upper Primary (Grades 4–6) - Secondary (Grades 7–11 / IGCSE) - Sixth Form (Grades 12–13 / A-Level, IBDP) - University Foundation and Undergraduate Level (Business English and Academic English)

Q: Wie integrieren Sie ethische Überlegungen in Ihren Unterricht, wenn Sie Wirtschaftstheorien und -konzepte vermitteln?

My Teaching Philosophy I believe education should build skills that last beyond the classroom. A great teacher doesn’t just prepare students to pass exams — they prepare them to think independently, solve problems, and apply what they’ve learned in the real world. My approach focuses on clear communication, critical thinking, and structured academic coaching. I expect students to work hard and engage actively, but I also make sure every session gives them practical tools they can use immediately. Ultimately, my goal is to create confident learners who can adapt, compete, and succeed on their own terms.

What Students Appreciate Most About My Teaching Love is a strong word, especially when teaching young adults and adults. For me, it’s about building trust and helping students grow over time. When you stay with a class or a family for a sustained period, you get to watch that growth happen, and that’s one of the things I value most about tutoring. I once taught an entire family — starting with the older brother, then the younger brother and sister — guiding them from grades 4 and 5 all the way up to grade 13. It doesn’t always happen, but when it does, it’s special.

Tarrifs - Trade Wars Tariffs, taxes on imports, are a focal point due to recent policy shifts (like those in the US in April 2025) creating global economic uncertainty and impacting trade flows. Some studies suggest these can lead to higher consumer prices, potentially harm GDP growth, affect employment, and invite retaliatory measures, though they aim to protect domestic industries. But there much more to discuss?

Q: Wie sieht Ihre Vorgehensweise bei der Beratung zu Karrierewegen oder Weiterbildungsmöglichkeiten im Bereich Wirtschaftswissenschaften aus?

I try when approrpriate to provide general information that might be useful for students exploring their options: Career Paths: I can outline common roles economics graduates pursue, such as financial analysts, market research analysts, economic consultants, actuaries, data analysts/scientists, and roles in government or academia. I can also note that many positions titled "Economist" often require postgraduate degrees (Master's or PhD). Further Education: I can provide information on different postgraduate options like Master's degrees (MSc, MA, MRes in Economics, Applied Economics, Quantitative Economics, Economics & Finance, etc.) and PhD programs, including typical structures and prerequisites. Skills: I can list key skills valued in economics careers, such as strong analytical and quantitative abilities, critical thinking, problem-solving, data analysis (including statistical software), and communication skills. Resources: I can point students towards helpful resources like university career services, professional organizations (like the American Economic Association), job boards, and suggest informational interviews.

This entirely depends on the level of the student the age of the student and what grades they are aiming to achieve. My preference though is to take a student around grade 9 and take them all the way through GCS, A-level and get them into university.

Q: Wie integrieren Sie lokale oder regionale wirtschaftliche Themen in Ihren Unterricht?

In the fields of economics and business management, there are numerous opportunities to employ case studies at both regional and local scales. This approach enables us to conduct in-depth investigations and provide critical analyses of various economic policies and issues within a more localised context.

My lessons are based upon personalisation and what the student wants and requires. Usually there will be a topic or some key vocabulary or a plan that we try to follow but if they discuss discussion or any kind of follow-up questions arrive that is absolutely perfect.
