I hold a Master of Library and Information Management from the University of Hong Kong, a Bachelor of Primary Education from The Education University of Hong Kong, and a Trinity College London CertTESOL. I have 15 years of teaching experience at an international school in Bangkok. I work as a learning support teacher for students with special needs, as well as teaching students who need to improve their English proficiency. After graduating from Columbia University with a degree in Political Science and Economics, I joined the Teach For America program (against the wishes of my parents who had hoped I'd go into finance) and taught a variety of subjects including mathematics, chemistry, and biology. From 2001 until 2023, I was a senior tutor at AMG Ltd. in Language and Literature for students aged 8-18. For those students preparing for IELTS, we cover all areas of the examination by looking at past papers and best practices. I also offer interview practice for Hong Kong international schools and schools in the UK and elsewhere. I have extensive experience in preparing students for online as well as face-to-face interviews; my focus is on building up learners’ self-confidence and interpersonal skills so they can present their best selves to any interviewer.
