I am bilingual in English and Afrikaans, but I can also speak and understand basic French, Italian, Dutch, and Flemish. I studied Ba. Humanities with majors in Sociology, Psychology, and French. During my time as a student, I began by tutoring first-year French, which I thoroughly enjoyed. After graduating from university, I provided private English tutoring to a family in France and then to a family in Italy. I am TELF certified. Teaching and tutoring English to young children brings me great joy. My approach involves teaching through play. By engaging in play and interacting with children, while creating an English-speaking environment, I find that they develop a greater desire to learn. I strive to act more like an older sister (with whom they can only speak English) and less like a traditional teacher. Additionally, I enjoy helping adults build confidence in their conversational English skills. Understanding how challenging it can be to learn a new language, I focus on making learning sessions social and interactive. Ultimately, learning a new language is equivalent to acquiring a new social skill.

Additionally, during the high season for tourism in the country, I gained experience by working at a travel agency that provided weekend jobs until I graduated. After graduation, I couldn't find anything better than the tourism industry, so I have been working as a tour guide up until now. In the field of tourism, I had a lot of free time each day, which I spent reading books on various languages and their grammar, including German, Spanish, Italian, and more. Furthermore, I had the chance to learn about the Latin language, which helped me understand the roots of many English words and gain a deeper understanding of European languages. As a tutor, I can guide students or learners to delve deeply into English and gain a more profound understanding of it.
