Hi, My name is Jaya Daswani! I grew up in Hong Kong, but study conservation biology in Australia, but am currently taking a year off in Hong Kong. I have worked as a supply educational assistant at Kowloon Junior School (an international school in Ho Man Tin), an english tutor at a tutorial centre in Tsuen Wan, as well as volunteered teaching english in a tutorial school for underprivileged children in Ho Man Tin. On top of that In the past I travelled to many countries in Asia volunteering in orphanages. All of these experiences have made me patient and understanding with children, yet thorough and efficient. I understand that early education is a stepping stone for a successful future and will always endeavor to have children reach these goals in a stress-free fun environment, that gets them excited to learn. I am a qualified secondary school English teacher and English as a Foreign Language tutor, with eight years’ experience of successfully tutoring students studying at a wide range of levels including KS2/3, GCSE, A Level and University level. I have a strong working knowledge of GCSE and A Level exam boards, alongside the marking criteria and assessment frameworks for IELTS and Cambridge English First exams. My name is Jaydene and I am an English teacher with IELTS certification and Teaching certification for students with special needs I hold a PGD in early childhood education. I worked at a private institution teaching the IGCSE curriculum to learners from years 1 - 10, as well as adult students preparing for IELTS and SAT exams. I worked with a variety of students including special needs, and students of many ages and backgrounds. When doing lessons with me, students will soon understand my methods of teaching are in accordance with what I feel is better suited to them as an individual, I keep my lessons fun so that I keep my students involved and interested in my lessons. For my younger students, I will follow lessons custom-made to suit their individual needs. I involve some Montessori methods when teaching as I believe it is a wonderful way to keep young students interested and involved. We use whiteboards and colored markers, threading laces through letters and Playdough to make letters of the alphabet and so much more. With my Adult students who are preparing for IELTS or SAT exams or just wanting to learn English as a second language, we go through Modules that are custom designed for each student's needs that will include speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I will discuss my student's progress and where I feel they need to focus more in order to help them succeed in their goals.

I taught in Japan for four years, and now I teach Chinese and Japanese students remotely from my home in France. In our lessons, we will talk about any topics that interest you--your hobbies, your likes and dislikes, daily life, life in America/France, current events, etc. We can read news articles together and discuss them. We can read and discuss the lyrics to English songs that you like. I will help you express your thoughts in English, and, if you would like to me to, I will take notes so that you can focus solely on speaking and listening. I will send you the notes after class so that you can practice saying the new words and phrases you have learned.
