I’m Matyas Hofecker, a professional bass player and music educator based in London. I developed a passion for music at a very young age, playing the trumpet when I was four years old. In elementary school, I became familiar with jazz and the bass guitar, then I switched to the double bass during my teenage years and started playing music professionally. I studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and received my Master’s Degree with honors from the Music and Arts University of Vienna. Over the past few years, I have become a permanent member of the European and UK music scene, and I have appeared at various venues and famous stages such as Ronnie Scott’s and PizzaExpress Jazz Club. I'm mainly influenced by Paul Chambers, Sam Jones, George Duvivier, and Peter Washington. I have toured with the legendary Harold Mabern Trio, recorded an album with Sheila Jordan, and shared the stage with renowned jazz artists like Joe Farnsworth, Jesse Davis, Pete Van Nostrand, Jim Rotondi, and Grant Stewart with a passion for straight-ahead jazz. I perform regularly around Europe, including Spain, France, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Portugal. Tutoring Experience: Since 2010, I have been teaching privately and giving individual lessons from beginners to advanced level, with students of all ages ranging from 6 to 80. During my academic studies, I studied pedagogy and led group and individual lessons. I also taught workshops as part of my course and in 2018, I was one of the teachers of the Carinthian Jazz Workshop and International Saxophone Competition where I taught jazz history, music theory, ear training, and ensemble. Currently, I'm the double bass teacher at the World Heart Beat Music Academy and Wandsworth Music Academy in London.

A self-motivated and people-oriented fusion composer and performer with more than 4 years of teaching and 5 years of performing experience. I have knowledge in manuscript production and formatting, as well as mastering the art of arranging music during my time at Berklee College of Music. My aim is to pursue a career in music education as a composer and performance teacher, pushing both music and students' abilities to the next level using various methods, including commissioned compositions for students at various levels. I am a professional performing musician specializing in guitar and piano. I have been playing for 22 years and teaching professionally for 10 years. I have successfully helped thousands of students reach their musical goals, from beginners to advanced players looking to improve their skills. My lessons are tailored to students' musical tastes and needs, as I specialize in various genres. I offer lessons in guitar, including acoustic and electric, as well as piano, covering both contemporary and classical styles.

I'm a blues-based musician with years of experience in music creation and guitar playing. I've taught in higher education insitutions, secondary and primary schools, as well as in private. Besides teaching, I'm an active musician who often produce and play for others as well as making records under my own alias. My works have been featured on popular outlets including City Magazine, Spotify playlists including .ORG and on radio shows before. I have a Masters of Arts in Teaching and an undergraduate with a dual focus in Music and Computer Science. I have a deep love for improvisation, theory, and brass instruments. I've completed contracts on cruise ships such as the Vision of the Seas and the Queen Mary II in the theater bands. My main instrument is the Trumpet, but have knowledge of all wind instruments due to also being a ceritified band instrument repair technician. I am a believer in contextualizing learning to give it meaning. I also subscribe to the thought that culturally responsive teaching will always yield more for everyone. I am a professionally educated bass guitarist and teacher from Hungary, currently based in The Hague. (I recently graduated with a master's degree in education from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague.) I have been an active musician since 2014 and have played in several formations, from solo performances to big bands and orchestras. I mostly play in the genres of jazz (free, fusion), metal, repetitive minimal music, and contemporary classical music. Besides playing, I am quite passionate about teaching. During my bachelor's studies, I started teaching in music schools and have been teaching privately since then.
