Hi, I’m an experienced and approachable tutor based in the Netherlands, offering support in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, English, and Geography. I have been studying at the British School in the Netherlands since Year 8 and am familiar with both the British curriculum and the IB. I achieved 8s and 9s in 11 GCSE subjects, including all three sciences, Maths, English Language and Literature, Geography, Dutch, Drama, Photography, and Bengali. In the IB, I was predicted a 43, with 7s in Higher Level Biology and Chemistry, and a 6 in Higher Level Maths. Over the past three years, I have worked with students at various levels. My approach centres on developing both subject understanding and strong exam technique. This combination has proven effective: I have personally gone from 4s and 5s in Year 10 to mostly 9s by the end of Year 11. More importantly, I’ve supported students in doing the same. One student I worked with improved from a grade 3 to a grade 7 in just five months. I am also currently tutoring a Year 10 student who is consistently achieving 8s and 9s in sciences, English, and Geography. I tailor each session to meet the student’s needs and learning goals. I am flexible with scheduling and always make an effort to provide extra support around exam time. Whether your goal is to improve your grades, strengthen your understanding, or build confidence, I aim to provide a supportive and effective learning environment.

I believe that each and every student is different, so I will adjust my teaching style accordingly. I generally try to simplify a concept without losing any content. I will break up a challenging topic into smaller, more digestible topics. Research suggests that non-experts are better off looking at solutions, so I will solve questions while explaining my thinking process. This will allow you to mimic it in exams. Afterwards, I will assign a very small but targeted amount of questions to help solidify your understanding. This way, you will not waste time doing the same type of questions repeatedly. It doesn't matter if you are a student who usually receives B or D grades - my goal is to help you achieve an A*.

I am Farhan Yusuf Khan, an international undergraduate student at the University of Hong Kong currently studying Computer Science. During my high school, I studied in the British Curriculum and sat for Cambridge O Levels and A Levels Examinations, achieving A*/A grades. Since I have been studying in the British Curriculum my entire life, I am fluent in English and well-versed in international curriculum. I am looking to teach Mathematics, Sciences, or English. Additionally, I have prior experience tutoring multiple students over the past three years. Currently, I am also working as a Student Teaching Assistant at the University of Hong Kong, where I help teach programming to students enrolled in the Computer Programming I course. In Hong Kong, I have taught programming to grade 5 and grade 3 students from KCIS School, as well as maths to a grade 4 student from Victoria Shanghai Academy. Prior to that, I taught A Level Pure Mathematics and Mechanics, O Level Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in Bangladesh. I decided to have a career change at the age of 25 and pursue teaching as my career. I found happiness and satisfaction in seeing my students grow academically.
