あなたへの質問

Q: What materials or resources do you provide to help students succeed in computer science?

I provide structured lesson plans, curated worksheets, practice past papers, coding exercises, and step by step tutorials. I also use interactive resources such as online coding platforms, simulations, and visual tools to reinforce understanding. For exam level students, I share revision guides, mark schemes, and exam style practice questions.

Q: What programming languages are you proficient in?

I am proficient in Python, Java, JavaScript, PHP, and C++. I also have working knowledge of SQL, HTML, CSS, and Bash scripting, which I use in both teaching and real world IT consultancy projects.

Q: What tools or software do you use to teach computer science lessons?

I use tools such as VS Code, PyCharm, Google Colab and Replit for coding practice. For computer science theory and exam prep, I use Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, and interactive platforms like Kahoot and Quizizz. For database lessons, I use MySQL and SQLite, while networking lessons often involve simulation tools like Cisco Packet Tracer.

Q: How do you handle students who are struggling with specific topics or concepts in computer science?

I break down complex concepts into smaller, simpler steps, and use analogies to relate them to reallife examples. I also provide one on one support, additional exercises, and alternative explanations using visual aids or hands on activities. Peer learning and group projects are another method I encourage to help students learn collaboratively.

Q: How do you balance teaching theoretical concepts with practical application in computer science?

I follow a theory to practice approach: first covering the theoretical background, then immediately applying it through coding exercises, simulations, or problemsolving tasks. For example, after teaching binary shifts, students apply them by writing small programs to manipulate numbers in Python.

Q: Can you provide any examples of projects or assignments that you assign to students during computer science lessons?

Creating a quiz game in Python using loops and conditions. Designing a relational database for a library or store system. Developing a basic website with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Writing pseudocode and flowcharts for everyday problems (e.g., ATM withdrawals or traffic light sequences). Implementing encryption/decryption algorithms using string manipulation.

Q: How do you handle difficult questions or topics that may arise during computer science lessons?

I encourage curiosity and discussion, and if the question is outside the scope of the lesson, I research it and bring the answer back in the next class. I also promote critical thinking by guiding students to research and find solutions themselves, teaching them how to learn independently.

Q: Can you provide any guidance on career opportunities or paths related to computer science?

Yes. I highlight career paths such as software engineering, data science, cybersecurity, web development, AI/ML, cloud computing, IT consultancy, and networking. I also explain the relevance of soft skills like problem solving, teamwork, and communication. For older students, I share guidance on university choices, online certifications, and internships to help them plan their career pathways.
