Enthusiastic Accounting Lecturer from India living in Auckland
Being a positive person who has an enthusiastic outlook on life, I love my job of helping each and every student to learn and grow in an affirming creative way. In addition, I get a great sense of achievement from seeing my students develop the skill as individuals and set a platform for growth. If I can have a positive impact on their future, I feel I am doing my job well. I had been working as a Guest Lecturer in Accounting and Taxation under The University Of Calicut, India before arriving to New Zealand. Full time job of teaching & tutoring over 100 tertiary students was rewarding but I loved my job. Some of the duties include: - Lecture planning, preparation and research - One-to-one interaction with students, if required - Checking and assessing students' work - Encouraging personal development via tutorial - Invigilating examinations - Attending staff meetings - Schedule extra classes and prepare notes - Reading academic journals - Supervising both graduates and post graduates - Attending and speaking at conference seminars My approach to tutoring is to provide a tailor-made tuition depending on the needs of the student. I aim to run a tuition in support of the progression of my students through their subject syllabus, but I am also willing to progress more slowly and focus on particularly weak areas if the students so desires. I would advise offering pre-exam revision sessions and mock exams as well. Moreover, I expect students to maintain regular contact in regards to their subject progressions and their individual needs. In addition, I am happy to meet the parents or guardians of my students prior to the commencement of tuition in order to ascertain what they wish their child to gain from tuition.
