Questions for You

Q: What teaching methods do you use to help students learn Math concepts and solve problems?

I focus on understanding first, then problem-solving. I break problems into steps, use visuals and real-world examples, and guide students with questions to think critically. I adapt the pace to each learner, use active exercises, and turn mistakes into learning opportunities, so students not only solve problems but truly grasp the concepts.

Q: Do you have experience with online teaching platforms or virtual tutoring, and what is your preferred method of communication with students?

Yes, I have experience using online teaching platforms and virtual tutoring tools, including LMS systems for tracking progress, assignments, and interactive lessons. My preferred method is a mix of live video sessions for explanations and Q&A, combined with chat or LMS messaging for ongoing support, homework feedback, and quick questions—keeping learning flexible, interactive, and easy to track.

Q: What Math topics or concepts are you particularly skilled in teaching, and how do you keep up to date with changes in the curriculum?

I’m skilled in all Math Literacy, Technical Math, Pure Mathematics, and AP Math. I focus on both understanding concepts deeply and applying them to solve problems efficiently. To stay up to date, I regularly review changes in school curricula, exam guidelines, and education resources, so my lessons always match what students need to succeed at their level.

Q: How do you communicate with parents about their child's progress and any challenges they may be facing in learning Math?

I keep communication clear, consistent, and solution-focused. I provide regular updates via email or messaging, sharing progress, strengths, and areas needing improvement. I highlight specific challenges with examples, suggest strategies or extra practice, and remain open for questions or calls. The goal is a collaborative approach so parents are informed, involved, and can support their child’s learning effectively.

Q: Do you provide any additional resources or materials to supplement your lessons, such as practice exercises or online tutorials?

Yes - I provide extra practice exercises, worksheets, and problem sets tailored to each student’s level. I also share online tutorials, videos, and interactive tools to reinforce concepts outside of lessons. These resources help students practice independently, strengthen weak areas, and stay engaged between sessions, ensuring learning goes beyond just the live lessons.

Q: What is your approach to homework assignments, and how do you ensure students understand the concepts covered in class?

I assign homework that reinforces what we cover in class, focusing on practice, application, and problem-solving. I review completed work with the student, identify mistakes, and use them as teaching moments to clarify concepts. I also mix in challenge problems to stretch thinking and ensure understanding, not just memorization, so students can confidently apply concepts in different contexts.

Q: What steps do you take to ensure that your teaching approach is compatible with the student's learning style?

I start by assessing the student’s learning style—visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or a mix—through observation and quick exercises. Then, I adapt lessons: visuals and diagrams for visual learners, verbal explanations for auditory learners, hands-on activities for kinesthetic learners. I also adjust pacing, examples, and problem types based on their responses, continuously checking understanding to make sure the approach truly clicks for them.

Q: Do you have experience working with students with learning disabilities or special needs, and how do you adapt your teaching methods to accommodate their needs?

I don’t have direct experience with students with learning disabilities, as each type requires specialized strategies. However, I’m open to adapting lessons by breaking concepts into smaller steps, using clear explanations, visuals, and extra practice, and I’m committed to learning the best approaches to support students with different needs
