My tutoring style is student-centered which involves classroom discussions and plenty of practice questions as well as quizzes (including online quizzes).
I have experience tutoring online via Microsoft Teams. I can also tutor on other platforms such as Google Meet or Zoom.
I particularly enjoy Geometry and Algebra. To keep up to date with curriculum changes, it is important that I communicate with students so that I am aware of the topics that they are covering in class and so that I can prepare beforehand for the tutorial.
I have included in my services a live/online lesson plan. Here, parents can view a strcutured lesson plan as well as tutor review on the student's performance during that lessson. Typically parents ask about their child's progress from time to time which is an opportune moment for me to inform them about their progress.
Included in my service offering is worksheets, practice quizzes and online quizzes. Thus, all my lessons are supplemented with additional resources.
My tutoring style is student-centered. Thus I try to lead the student to figuring out the answer themselves (providing hints along the way as needed). This aims to help the student gain confidence in their ability to solve problems. Furthermore, concepts are revised by asking the student to re-explain the concept back to me as though they were explaining it to a friend.
I typically illustrate concepts to students via drawings or diagrams. This allows the student to visualise the problem. This way the problem becomes less abstract and more simplified. I sometimes make use of everyday examples so that the student can relate to the topic being taught.
Unfortunately, I do not have experience working with students with learning disabilities or special needs.
