I believe in efficiency and results, so I won't teach what is not useful for the students. The program will be tailored to the students' needs. I am very passionate and a professional ESL teacher with fluency in a number of languages based out of Columbus, Ohio.

First lesson is FREE! I was born in Guangzhou and moved to Hong Kong at the age of nine. Before moving, I received a bilingual education in Mandarin and Cantonese. Since my mother speaks Mandarin at home, my Mandarin proficiency is higher than that of most Hong Kong residents. While studying for my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at the University of Melbourne in Australia, I also successfully completed Level 1 (the highest level) of the Pǔtōnghuà Shuǐpíng Cèshì (PSC), which is the Mandarin Proficiency Test. During that time, I also studied Spanish, as it is my dream to travel across South America. I am fluent in English (near-native level with an IELTS score of 8.5/9, including a reading score of 9 and oral, writing, and listening scores of 8.5), Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish. Since my return in 2019, I have been working as a tutor, specializing in English, Coding, and Chinese.

As a registered teacher in Hong Kong with 5 years of experience tutoring international curricula such as IB, IGCSE, and MYP Chinese, I specialize in supporting students in mastering the language across various academic levels. I am currently a Chinese teacher at a primary school in Hong Kong, bringing both classroom and one-on-one teaching experience. My academic background includes a PGDE in Chinese from the University of Hong Kong, a degree in Language Studies from City University of Hong Kong, and English Studies from Tianjin Agricultural University.

Having taught tuition for 10 years (5 years part-time and another 5 years full-time), I have the relevant experience and expertise to guide my students to achieve greater improvement in their learning progress. This, in turn, enhances their confidence and interest in the subject. As a bilingual tutor, I am capable of teaching both Mandarin Chinese and English. I have studied a National University of Singapore (NUS) degree with honors, majoring in English Literature, and minoring in Chinese Studies. Additionally, my students will also be provided with ample learning materials, including notes and practice resources.

I have been a Chinese teacher for 15 years in Hong Kong and have taught one-on-one lessons to more than 400 international students varying in age and levels, both face-to-face and online, at least 15,000 hours of teaching. *********************************************************************************** I was originally from Beijing and have been living in Hong Kong for over 20 years. I got my Putonghua teaching certificate at Hong Kong Chinese University and has been awarded the first-class grade in the National Putonghua Proficiency Test. *********************************************************************************** My aim as a IB tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves. *********************************************************************************** My adult courses (including Business Mandarin classes) are carried out in accordance with the HSK levels from Beginner onwards. I am a native Mandarin speaker from Beijing, China. For over two decades, I have been providing Mandarin/Putonghua training courses for companies and individuals. I have also taught both international and local school students for many years. I love reading, sports, and meeting new friends.

I'm Laura, and I teach Chinese, specifically Cantonese (both oral and written). I provide instruction to both adults and children. I am an experienced teacher, specializing in teaching non-Chinese students in schools. As a result, I use a variety of methods to effectively teach Chinese. I hold a Master's degree in Expressive Arts Therapy. My location is in Kowloon, but I am also willing to travel to other districts, such as Hong Kong Island or New Territories (N.T.).
