STATEMENT OF TEACHING PHILOSOPHY – January, 2019 Based on my decades of college and university teaching experience, including a wide range of both undergraduate and graduate courses in business, economics, research methods, and critical thinking, in New England and North Georgia, on campus and on-line.

I have recently retired from a 40-year teaching career, the last 20 of which I have spent here in Hong Kong. I was appointed Head of Economics at ESF West Island School in 2002, then moved on to Harrow International School where I led the Ivy League & Oxbridge Admission Programs. I gained my degree with Honours from Leeds University in 1983. I first taught Economics in the UK before moving to Australia in 1991, where I spent ten years at Christ Church Grammar School as the Head of Economics and Head of House. I am proud of the exceptional results achieved by my students and am pleased to still be considered a trusted mentor by many. A number of these students are now studying Economics at the University of Cambridge, The London School of Economics, and the highly regarded Economics Program of the University of Chicago. Career Highlights: - Specialization in Edexcel A Level Economics and Business. - Introduced Economics for the International Baccalaureate and IGCSE Economics to the ESF School. - Recognized with the Outstanding Educator Award by the University of Chicago. By request, I have begun private tutoring for a select number of students in Hong Kong, both face to face and via Skype. These sessions primarily focus on A Level and IB Economics, and I am also assisting these students with their university applications. Hi I am Jing. I love Economics and enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge and insights in economics. I got my Ph.D. degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Dallas. I have over ten years experience teaching economics courses at various universities.
