Hi there! I'm 27 years old and grew up in the countryside of Germany, where my curiosity and interest in everything started early. I'm patient, always eager to explore new ideas, and love diving deep into whatever catches my attention. I bring this passion for learning and discovery into everything I do.

I teach primary maths, science (biology, earth science, and health), and English subjects. I am also an ESL tutor who teaches students at various levels via an online platform. I can certainly help you enhance your skills and knowledge as I use effective learning management for my classes. I always make sure my classes are safe places where students can express their thoughts and engage fully.

I am currently a student at HKBU, Journalism ( Year 2). Being a Journalism student, I am well equipped with great writing skills, communication skills as well. I can get along with all of my students quickly because it is important to have a sense of trust towards a stranger who will kind of be responsible for your education for a while right. I am a Hong Kong born Indian, and I can speak fluent Cantonese and English, which is another factor that allows all my students, local students especially to pick up what I am trying to teach really quick. Contrary to popular opinion, I do believe that incorporating your mother tongue to the language you are trying to improve will be very beneficial for you. I allow all my students to use Cantonese as well as English while we are learning, of course i set up strict rules on the quota as well. Creative writing, language speaking, phonics , pronunciation and much more. Anything about English I can handle, as i did get a 5* IN MY DSE 2019. I use a variety of methods such as games OR IPADS to kind of make the lesson more fun to students. I believe a lesson should be a long education activity, and a teacher should be a funny mentor. Apart from English, I teach some students accents as well, for example British or American accents, and I have noticed that most of my students have developed really nice accents which just rolls of their tongue really good. I am Judy Ann Juria Escalo, an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher from the Philippines. I am a dedicated educator, wife, and mother of two. Since 2019, I have been passionately teaching English to students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, majoring in English, and have completed professional certifications including TEFL, TESOL, and a C1 English proficiency qualification. Additionally, I have earned academic units towards a Master’s Degree in Education, majoring in English. Throughout my teaching journey, I have guided learners from various countries in developing their communication skills, enhancing fluency, and building confidence in using English for academic, professional, and everyday purposes. Teaching has always been more than just a profession for me— it is a calling that allows me to connect with people, inspire growth, and make a positive impact through language education.

I began my teaching journey right after high school when I was 16, initially clueless about teaching. However, I found joy in seeing my students remember what I taught. In 2012, I enrolled in an English FOC class and spent a year learning there. In 2013, they offered me a position as an instructor, a role I embraced for two years before transitioning to work for a tourism company. Even while employed in the tourism sector, I continued freelance English teaching at home. Despite changing full-time jobs, I have consistently maintained my freelance English teaching practice to this day. I worked as a junior English language instructor in an FOC class located in Myanmar for two years. During this time, I provided instruction to both adult and young learners. Specifically, I conducted summer courses for young learners and offered general English classes for adults. Additionally, I completed two intense teacher training courses, one online and the other in person. In 2016, I took on a role as an English language guide for high school students at a private high school in Myanmar. I spent one year in this position but resigned due to the considerable distance from my home. However, I cherish the pleasant and memorable relationship I had with my students. I maintain communication with some of them through the internet. Subsequently, a language school founder offered me a position as an English instructor for his small language school after finding out about my proficiency in English. I held this role from 2017 until the onset of the Covid pandemic. In response, I initiated my own online English teaching through Facebook and messenger groups. Despite Myanmar's challenges with slow internet and poor WiFi services, I ventured to Thailand for new opportunities. Since last November, I have been engaged in part-time English teaching at a language school in Chiang Mai. I only teach there on the weekends, so I am eager to transition into a full-time English teaching role.

I teach all levels and grades of English, including university and IELTS. I am a British teacher with 20 years of experience. I will conduct my classes on Zoom or in person if transportation is provided.

I have been teaching for well over 20 years now and hold a breadth of knowledge in teaching GCSE, KS3-5, Functional Skills Level 1 & 2, as well as A’ Level English Language and Literature. As an enthusiast in learning myself, I like to improve on my personal development and ensure that I am always in line with current educational strategies. Exposure to students from various cultures and ethnic backgrounds has allowed me to become tailored in my teaching strategies, enabling me to accommodate the individual needs of students while helping them feel the growth in their learning. I firmly believe in differentiation and in being able to challenge students at various levels to encourage them to achieve their optimal potential in learning. Furthermore, I am a firm believer in critical thinking skills, creativity, and the development of ethics, diversity, and inclusion within the classroom. Real-life examples and interactive activities are always embedded in my teaching practice. My previous work history has allowed me to understand ethics and morals both pastorally and academically, ensuring the growth and development of a student within the academic world.
