I hold a bachelor's degree in Linguistics and a TEFL certificate, both of which have greatly broadened my horizons in the field of teaching. In terms of my experience and credentials, I spent a hugely developmental year in Thailand working in the kindergarten department of Bangkok Bilingual School. I am studying English literature at UCL and thoroughly enjoying the course. In my experience, not many local students in Hong Kong are exposed to the fun of reading English literature so I want to spread my enthusiasm for the subject to the students I teach. I have first-hand experience of both A-Level and HKDSE systems. I studied texts under the HKDSE curriculum in Hong Kong up till Form 5 and studied in the UK for sixth form, where I achieved grades of A*A*A* in English Literature, History and Mathematics. I also got an A* for an optional Extended Project Qualification. Apart from helping students improve their English language skills for both verbal and written communication, it's important to learn English for an academic use. I write 4,000-word essays every two weeks for my degree at UCL, so I have more than enough experience of teaching essay writing. I can switch between British and American accents easily, so I can use either one depending on which accent my student wants to develop towards!
