I am a student-centred English tutor with good command on the English language. I am not only to help you know the language but to understand and grasp it.

My name is Aketch Joy Winnie In our lessons, you can call me Tr. Joy. I live in Capetown(Greenpoint) that is western cape I hold a Bachelors degree of arts in education with English and Literature at one of the most recognised university My teaching subject is English and also literature in English. I have a two-year teaching experience which ranges from primary school to university(els) My classes are experimental, open and greatly interactive My classes go between learner-centered and teacher-centered in a line teaching atmosphere. My procedure supports the different range of learners that is audio learners, visual learners, audio-visual learners, etc N.b I also teach creative arts those are music, dance and drama to kindergarten, primary school students and secondary school, students.

I believe I can help those who need guidance in achieving articulation and pronunciation achievements. I do thoroughly enjoy teaching children, but adult's with speaking difficulties may apply as well. I reside in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. I can be available via Skype or in person - I would prefer to work in the afternoon and evening, but special arrangements can be made for weekly group classes during the mornings.

I am a native English speaker with a near-native level of proficiency (IELTS: 8.5/9, reading: 9, oral: 8.5, writing: 8.5, listening: 8.5, TOEFL: 115/120). I am also fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish, which I studied at St. Paul's Co-educational College Primary School and St. Paul's Co-educational College in Hong Kong. I earned a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Melbourne and a Master's degree in Computer Science from Victoria University of Technology in Australia after living there for many years. Upon my return to Hong Kong in 2020, I have been tutoring in English, mathematics, science, and coding. I have achieved the highest grades in English in public exams, including A in HKCEE, B in HKAL, 5** in DSE, A in IGCSE, and 7 in IB Diploma LANG B HL. I teach various English courses from P4 to S6 in DSE, Year 4 to Year 11 in IGCSE, Year 4 to Year 11 in IB Diploma, and IELTS preparation in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. I have successfully helped students gain acceptance into prestigious schools such as Malvern College and Diocesan Boys' School, as well as improving students' English proficiency in DSE. My students come from both international and local schools in Hong Kong, including Malvern College, Choi Kai Yau College, Yew Chung College, Po Chiu Catholic Secondary School, and St. Francis Primary School. I am able to create customized courses for each student and have recently completed a diploma in Introduction to Teaching English as a Second Language from Alison Corp.

Greetings. I have been teaching English full-time for 30+ years, the last 13 in Hong Kong as a NET under the Hong Kong Government NET Scheme. I was born in New Zealand (British accent) and am now Australian. I have regular Hong Kong students from local as well as international schools and am fully conversant with the Hong Kong curriculum as well as that taught in the Hong Kong international schools. I can provide excellent references from my current and past Hong Kong students (two of whom have been studying with me for four years).
