My name is Henry and I am an English private tutor. I am a Master's student at the University of Hong Kong and currently based on Hong Kong Island. The first free session is an initial consultation with the parents/carers, as well as a reading and comprehension assessment for the student. This will allow me to understand the student's needs better and plan their learning plan accordingly. For all students, I believe in the importance of making learning fun. This can look different according to the age and needs of each student, but I enjoy tailoring my sessions for students - for example, using themed motivational tools to engage learners and taking brief brain breaks to help students stay focused. I solely teach online using Zoom or Teams, so students must be able to use the platform independently. If students are too young to use the platform independently, I ask that a parent or carer sit in on all lessons to support with any technical issues.
