Hi. I am Jan Leibovitz Alloy. Am an editor, writer, and tutor, working primarily with high school students on English, reading, and writing. I have also taught English and Interpersonal Communications at the college level. Have taught preschools as well and love to work one-on-one with students who love to learn. I have written two books, including a historical field guide to Michigan, and currently am editing short stories and a nonfiction book for publication.

I have experience teaching English to children and adults In Canada and overseas and am passionate about creative writing and reading. I have a Bachelors degree from the University of Victoria and have taught reading comprehension, creative writing, and academic writing to both children and adults. I teach the basics of English grammar, reading, sentence structure, editing, essay structure and more. Aside from tutoring, I am currently completing a Fine Arts Studio program and reconnecting with my family and friends in Toronto. In my spare time I train in contemporary dance and go for hikes outside the city.

Rose Stanley is a writer, artist, published poet, and a seasoned English teacher of 20+ years. Her work with urban students and the surrounding community on a “Poetry Slam” earned her the teacher of the year award in 2001. She also teaches theatre and production to high school continuation students and has produced 4 plays at the local high school level.
