Hello, my name is Kate and I'm based in Hong Island. Here is a little more information about me. I have a BA in English Language and I've been tutoring English in Hong Kong for 6+ years. I'm an experienced class teacher (both learning centres/Kindergarten). From my teaching experience I have taught, Cambrigde (Starters, Movers, Flyers, KET & PET), Trintiy GESE (levels 1-3), Oxford Reading & Writing Comprehension, Phonics (Jolly Phonics/Letterland) and English Grammar. I have mainly spoken English throughout my entire life. However, my skill in the language increased dramatically from the moment I set foot in Edinburgh, Scotland for the first time back in 2015 to receive my high school education. After spending 7 years there and graduating, my English skills have become excellent. Several friends have even told me that I speak English as well, if not better, than the native speakers there. For these reasons, I believe I am more than equipped to teach English at any level. However, I do feel particularly suited to teaching beginners and young kids due to my background of teaching youth baseball at YMCA Shatin.

I’m currently teaching English in various learning centers and St James Catholic Primary School in Hong Kong. Before teaching in Hong Kong I taught English and creative writing to kindergarten, primary, and middleschool students around Guangzhou that were from 4 to 13 years of age. Before Guangzhou I taught for Aston English in Hanzhong, China for six months. Over this time I have developed a strong passion for education and acquired the tools that help me be an effective educator and role model for young learners. Being that my educational training was in creative writing I seize every opportunity to instill the seeds of the creative process in my students. I also have an acoTESOL certificate, which the training I received from has greatly helped shape me as a foreign language teacher. I work best under the framework of being allowed creative freedom. In my opinion thus far, being allowed to shape the lessons to the needs of the students, as a teacher becomes acquainted with those needs over the semester, is a very effective way a teacher teaches. As a professional of any kind it’s my belief that one must have a certain degree of being able to go with the flow, in terms of flexibility, to keep a positive attitude.

My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves.

Hi there! My name is Shay and I am a 23 year-old Philosophy major at the prestigious KU Luven in Belgium. I was a Fashion Design major at Istituto Marangoni, London beforehand. (Kindergarten-Form 3) -Personal average for English Literature throughout the year remained in top 10s - Attended an international school in Hong Kong for a brief while before my transfer to Australia -Skipped a grade and did year 11 at the mere age of 15 in Australia for a term - Came first in an Advanced English exam in Year 11 - Did German as one of the electives for Year 11 and 12, and manage to remain in the second rank throughout both years. (Hence my enthusiasm and confidence in teaching languages in particular) - Acquired a predicted HSC ATAR score (equivalent to HKDSE/A levels) of 90. (Highest one can achieve is 99.95) - attended The Sydney Institute of Business and Technology which was affiliated with Macquarie university and graduated with a diploma of commerce (GPA 3.88/4) within 1 year( of which the standard study period is 1.5 years) but I got to accelerate throughout the entire course of study hence being able to graduate so soon） - Teaching qualifications: Nothing official as of now, but willing to get one if necessary. - Teaching experiences: scattered experiences in tutoring kids from my neighbourhood since 12 - Started helping out with teaching SEN students at 15 - Scattered Experiences in giving free, leisure basic English classes to elderly students - Languages spoken as of now: English Cantonese Mandarin and German - Can also offer tutoring in: Cantonese, Maths in English (depending on the curriculum), Chinese/World History, English (Language/Literature/Speaking, writing) and art and design

I am an English teacher with over 10 years of experience. Currently, I work at a major international school based in Bahrain and primarily teach learners at the middle school and IGCSE/GCSE levels. My specializations are linguistics and literature, and I currently cover the Cambridge curriculum, although I am also familiar with the Edexcel and AQA curricula. Hello, I'm Ananda and I'm a rising junior studying Environment at McGill University. I also hold an A.A. in Liberal Arts from Bard College. I am mainly an English tutor, and I have a year and a half of experience doing so for college credit. I scored a 34/35 on each of the Math, English, and Science sections of the ACT, and a 35/36 on the Reading section.
