I am studying Mathematical Statistics at the University of Pretoria, and I have 2 years of experience tutoring high school learners in Pretoria East. My ideal student is someone who usually passes their tests but struggles to keep up with the pace of learning in class and would like to improve their results or earn a distinction. However, I have experience helping students who have previously failed, as well as those who are taking pure maths for the first time. The most important quality for a learner to have is the will to improve, even if they don't necessarily have all the tools to help them do so. Whether you need fully-fledged explanatory lessons, clarifications, or guided preparation for tests and exams, I am always up for the task. I usually travel to the learner's home and have less experience using online platforms but am willing to accommodate the learner should they prefer to have online lessons instead. Having completed my first year with full distinctions, I also tutor first-year university students studying any Mathematical Statistics (specializing in insurance) or Actuarial and Financial Mathematics modules.
