My teaching style is engaging and creative. I strive to create positive relationships with students. As a tutor, I aim to develop students' growth mindset thinking and confidence in problem-solving skills. My core belief is that it is vital for students to establish a love for learning and become "lifelong" learners. They should learn "how to learn" and make connections across all areas of learning. Through developing a strong bond with my students, I gain their trust and ensure that I incorporate their personal interests and strengths, while also working to support any areas of development or challenges. During learning sessions, I always ensure the activities are as engaging as possible. I take advantage of my 20 years of experience as a primary school educator to bring experiences that incorporate a variety of learning styles and approaches. Mrs. Gupta is my experienced English teacher. Mrs. Ruchira Gupta, MA (Eng. Lit.), Bachelor of Laws (LLB), IB Certified TOK Instructor, Certified IELTS Trainer, Advanced TESOL, PTE (Pearson Test of English) Trainer, and is a professional educator with diverse experiences and a strong track record. She has taught Academic English to students of the Associate Degree program at a Community College in Hong Kong. She has also taught Contract and Business Laws to a student of a UK university. Her proficiency lies in teaching IB Diploma English Literature and English Language, Economics, TOK, and guiding students to write high-level EE and IAs. She can also teach GCSE and HKDSE curriculums, besides teaching science and other subjects at the primary level. She has consistently demonstrated personalizing her instructions based on student's needs and interests to foster learning in each student, developing their critical thinking and critical writing skills. Mrs. Ruchira Gupta is a warm and caring teacher who wants all students to be successful learners.

I am a Yale University student who attended a boarding high school in Connecticut, where I served as the Editor-in-Chief of The Choate News and as a writing center tutor. I achieved a 99th percentile score on the SAT, received a 5 on the AP English Literature exam, and have a passion for English and writing. Additionally, I volunteered as a tutor at Bloom Outreach Programs, where I worked with rural Chinese students on their English skills.

I have experience in freelance writing, resume writing, cover letter writing, and journalism. Additionally, my strength lies in personal essay composition where I aim to assist individuals in expressing their inner writer.

I have tutored and helped many students in the New York area with writing in most grade levels as well as college students. I realize that sometimes it can be difficult to express something in writing or students may have small grammar errors that could be easily fixed. My students have always turned out to become great writers.

My name is Mara Vranjkovic and I am a recent graduate from the University of Alberta where I received my bachelor's degree in English and Creative Writing. I believe that writing has the ability to teach us to think critically and develop our inner lives so that we have a stronger sense of self. It allows us to be witness to our own patterns of thought, and allows us to grow as we strive to question and evolve those patterns. Writing is a powerful tool that can be used to persuade, command, and convince, but it also has the ability to critique and question. The ability to write is a tool for the self, first and foremost, and is a doorway that allows us to access our own mind and be its own master. My goal with tutoring in writing is to help the student break down the mental blocks that may prevent them from having the courage to just start writing, to help those learn effective tricks for developing plans for essays or other types of writing, and to help students write with passion. I have many books on writing at my disposal which I will be using during my tutoring sessions, and I have attended seminars on writing and planning over my years at the University which I will also draw from. I am also understanding when it comes to an individual's methods of learning, and can adapt a lesson depending on their needs. I have experience with developing organizational startegies to help with time management when it comes to writing with deadlines as this is something I used to struggle with. I am located in Sturgeon County, but I can easily access all parts of St. Albert. If the student would be more comfortable with being tutored at the local library or even a coffee shop, that option is available.
