Hello! I'm Melanie, a native English speaker and CertTESOL certified tutor with a passion for creating meaningful learning experiences. My teaching journey spans private tutoring and institutions across Hong Kong and Canada, where I've developed engaging lessons tailored to diverse learning styles.

I specialize in helping students master English through an innovative interdisciplinary approach that integrates real-world subjects like Geography, History, Sciences, and Visual Storytelling through Photography. Rather than learning grammar in isolation, students develop critical skills to analyze historical events and photographs, write compelling scientific reports, and describe complex geographical concepts. This methodology is specifically designed for success in international curricula including IGCSE, IB, and HKDSE.

My educational background includes international school education, a BA in History/Sociology from a Canadian university, and CertTESOL certification obtained in September 2024. With teaching experience dating back to my secondary school years in Drama, Physical Education, Photography, and YMCA Camping, I bring both enthusiasm and expertise to every session.

Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, I create a warm, supportive environment that makes learning both enjoyable and effective. I hold confirmed safety checks from both Hong Kong (SCRC) and Canada (CRC), ensuring peace of mind for all students.

Availability: Weekdays from 10 AM to 8 PM, weekends from 10 AM to 4 PM
Tutoring Locations: Hong Kong Island, Kowloon (Yau Tsim Mong), Tseung Kwan O or Online.

My methodology develops students' English proficiency by integrating academic subjects like History and Science with visual storytelling. For young learners, I use role-play and themed activities. For secondary students, we analyze texts, write reports, and critique photographs.
