Gabe was recommended to me by another parent. So far, my daughter’s lessons are going well. Gabe also teaches a variety of other subjects, including English (reading) and science.

Gabriel teaches criminology & crime, but he also teaches English & science. Gabriel teaches lessons which are easy for my son to follow. Depending on your child's learning ability, they'll learn both English & science in one lesson. Each of these subjects are about 30 minutes. Criminology is 1 hour (my son likes this subject very much). I homeschool my son because he has been attacked by boys in & after school on many occasions. They also mocked the way he spoke because English is not his first language. Gabriel was recommended to me by another parent.

I'm learning English with Gabriel. I prefer talking about the topic rather than reading many sentences. I enjoy criminology lessons because they involve more discussion with images, which I like. The English lessons about crime at B1 and B2 levels have more reading with questions. Gabriel mixes the lesson styles for me. Sometimes my lessons are longer than 60 minutes — for example, 75 or 80 minutes.

My daughter hasn't been back to school since the start of the last academic year (September 2024) due being being attacked on many ocassions & the school doing nothing about it. Incidents involved name calling & being punched & kicked. One incident involved two girls holding my daughter down whilst another cut part of her hair with scissors. That was the final straw. I wanted to involve the police but the school insisted they'd deal with it. They didn't. No one from the school has contacted me asking about the welfare of my daughter since I pulled her out of school last year! They don't care. Gabriel is a great tutor for my daughter. She started lessons in January 2025. It was difficult at first due to lack of motivation, but quickly excelled thanks to Gabriel making her lessons more visual & conversational. The best part - my daughter discusses the topics she's learnt that day with me. She turns 16 next year & plans to enroll at college in September 2026.

My son has been studying online with Gabriel since October 2024. It’s been remarkable to see him develop such a strong interest in this subject, especially since he previously struggled in school and showed little enthusiasm for other subjects. He engages exceptionally well with Gabriel, and I’ve never seen him so eager to complete his homework! Thanks to this positive experience, my son has now enrolled in college for September 2025. I’m truly grateful to Gabriel for his dedication and for helping my son build the confidence to grow, learn, and study. Although I had my doubts initially (which I kept to myself), this subject has genuinely made all the difference.

My son no longer attends school due to inadequate safeguarding against bullying over the past year. It has been a difficult journey trying to re-engage him with any form of education. He refused to follow the standard curriculum, and any encouragement from me was met with threats to run away, which was deeply worrying. I didn’t want him sitting at home doing nothing, so I looked for alternative ways to spark his interest in learning. I remembered him once asking about crime shows on TV, which gave me an idea. I searched online for “crime tutors for 15-year-olds” and discovered Gabriel through Find Tutors. At this stage, Gabriel’s lessons are primarily visual and discussion-based, with occasional multiple-choice questions to keep things engaging. The first lesson on white-collar crime truly surprised my son. He reflected on how individuals in positions of power - who should be role models - were instead stealing millions without any concern for the harm done to victims who often have far less. Hearing him make that observation was a breath of fresh air. It showed not only genuine interest but also how deeply he was paying attention. For the first time in a long while, I saw a spark in his learning.

My daughter, who’s almost 15, stopped attending school in March 2025—and if I explained the reasons why, you’d be shocked. Her school’s safeguarding policies aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. She’s always been interested in studying crime, so we found Gabriel on Find Tutors. He works well with her, and she really enjoys his lessons.

Gabriel is a good tutor, and I prefer learning with him compared to my experience at school. I enjoy the lessons, even though I've never been a fan of homework. Unlike my school teachers, Gabriel doesn’t get annoyed if I haven’t finished my homework by the next lesson. He treats me with respect and never talks down to me, even when I struggle to focus during our online sessions. At school, I didn’t feel supported or protected, and I still carry trauma from the physical bullying I experienced there. I have PTSD because of it. Gabriel understands this and lets me talk about it during lessons if he notices I’m distracted. He doesn’t get angry when I use strong language while talking about what happened. He went through bullying himself, so he genuinely understands how it feels.

My daughter recently turned 15 & dropped out of school due to bullying. She's physically mature for her age & boys & girls at school bullied her for it. It seemed like an inconvenience to the school every time me & my daughter reported the 22 incidents. If the school won't protect my daughter, I will. Gabriel was recommended by another parent who used him last year for their son. I contacted Gabriel & started lessons within 2 weeks (24th March 2025). Gabriel's lessons are more visual with photos & pictures. There is some reading i.e. agree or disagree statements relating to the topic taught. He also asks questions which get's my daughter thinking about issues she's never thought of before. My daughter said studying this subject is more interesting than what she was doing at school. My daughter will have to think about attending college in 2026, but we'll discuss this later in the year. Moral crimes (we covered this on 31st March) involves sensitive topics (abortion, drugs, alcohol).

The severe bullying at school left my son Matthew with low self esteem issues. Matthew believes he's a failure and believes he's not good looking. It took around 6 weeks to get him into some form of learning, but was refusing to learn English, Math, Geography and Science. Basically anything being taught in school. I was recommended by another parent who's child attended the same school as my son (Sunbury Manor) to look at using Gabriel. We looked at this idea and seemed interested in learning about crime. When Matthew started lessons, he was allowed to keep his camera off due to his confidence issues. By the 4th lesson, he turned his camera on. The interaction between Matthew and Gabriel is great! When he gets positive feedback for his homework, I can see the positive change in him. Matthew's self confidence grew in 2 months. After completing his 8th lesson yesterday (13/3/2025), he received a certificate of achievement showing the topics he covered. He's so proud of this achievement.

I took my daughter out of school before the end of the summer holidays of 2024 due to the continuous verbal and physical bullying and the school failing to protect her (Sunbury Manor School). Bullies run rife at this school and the education is terrible. She is now being home educated. My daughter who's now 15 has always talked about studying crime. I found Gabriel and we started lessons almost immediately.

Gabriel was recommended to me by another student from the National Learning Group. His lessons are effective because they include reading but also a lot of conversation, which I enjoy as it improves my English.

Great lessons! Just so you know, Gabriel doesn't only teach teenagers aged 14-16. His subjects are engaging for both adults and teenagers.

I started lessons with Gabriel in August 2024. He teaches lessons that cover a variety of subjects, not just crime. I enjoy the diversity of topics. Talking, debating, and sharing my opinions on multiple-choice questions are important for improving my spoken English.

I study English with Gabriel. Yes, he teaches criminology to teenagers, but he also teaches adults. Our English lessons cover topics about crime or issues related to crime. Topics like these make me talk a lot, which I need. However, I don't like the homework!

I started online lessons in January 2025. So far so good. Gabriel doesn't make you feel silly if you get the answer wrong to a verbal question or multiple choice lesson question. The discussions are brilliant. School was an extremely bad experience for me. I wish I had this choice of learning before I left school at 15.

Learning this way is different and interesting. The talking and debating part of my lesson is good for my spoken English.
