Questions for You

Q: What is your approach to teaching writing, and how do you help students develop their writing skills?

For writing, I discuss ideas with the students first, before we start working on writing. Rather than telling them about what to write, I would elicit the ideas from them and keep giving them tips while we brainstorm ideas. Then, I would ask the student to make a rough plan of the writing by using some bullet points. I would also give the student some vocabulary related to the writing topic, and make sure they understand every word/ phrase provided to them by me. Finally, I would ask the student to start writing by providing individual assistance where needed.
