Growing up in an international sphere, I am a native English speaker constantly curious about culture and history. As a former national competitor of speech in the US, I have coached speech for 3 years both abroad and in Hong Kong. A graduate of Columbia University, I have been based in Hong Kong for the past three years. I am passionate about building confidence and empowering young people to be curious and love learning. I am very comfortable with teaching critical thinking, reading, writing, speaking, and grammar. I believe English is easy to learn with consistent, dedicated time and practice. Let's get started!

As a child, I discovered that I wanted to become a teacher, and often acted as a teacher with my cousins and sister. Daily I taught my “students” lectures regarding Math and English, and at the end, gave them assignments to submit. I am Ellen, 35 years old from the Philippines. I graduated BS Psychology and currently taking Early Childhood Education. I also had a brief experience teaching Korean students ages 4-6 years old, as an ESL teacher before working for Convergys.

Hi. I am Jan Leibovitz Alloy. Am an editor, writer, and tutor, working primarily with high school students on English, reading, and writing. I have also taught English and Interpersonal Communications at the college level. Have taught preschools as well and love to work one-on-one with students who love to learn. I have written two books, including a historical field guide to Michigan, and currently am editing short stories and a nonfiction book for publication.

I have experience teaching English to children and adults In Canada and overseas and am passionate about creative writing and reading. I have a Bachelors degree from the University of Victoria and have taught reading comprehension, creative writing, and academic writing to both children and adults. I teach the basics of English grammar, reading, sentence structure, editing, essay structure and more. Aside from tutoring, I am currently completing a Fine Arts Studio program and reconnecting with my family and friends in Toronto. In my spare time I train in contemporary dance and go for hikes outside the city.

Rose Stanley is a writer, artist, published poet, and a seasoned English teacher of 20+ years. Her work with urban students and the surrounding community on a “Poetry Slam” earned her the teacher of the year award in 2001. She also teaches theatre and production to high school continuation students and has produced 4 plays at the local high school level. When she isn’t writing or teaching, she loves spending time painting, working on DIY projects, and enjoying time with her family, and very spoiled dog. She is currently working on her 2nd novel. Hello! I am a full-time business student at the University of Southern California and currently spending a year at HKUST. I am based in Tseung Kwan O. My native language is English and my education has always been in English as I grew up in Canada. I am most confident tutoring English skills—from pronunciation to grammar to reading. In high school, I received a full score of 5 on AP English Literature and Composition and in 1st year university, I excelled in a 3rd year writing class. I have two Licentiate diplomas from the London College of Music and Trinity Guildhall in Speech & Drama, with over 4 years of competitive public speaking and performance arts experience. I also speak Cantonese with my family at home. My name is Katy and I have been teaching English to students of all levels and ages for the past nine years. I am only available for online classes which means that no matter where you are in the world you can keep working on achieving your goals in English. Hello! I previously worked as a playgroup and an English teacher at recognized learning centers in Hong Kong and I am currently freelancing. I absolutely miss working with children and I happen to have time in the morning to help with your kid/s' phonics, reading and writing! As an experienced teacher, I've learned to be engaging and patient, as well as to find the child's weakness and focus my teaching on that.
