I'm name is Ntando, I'm 25, turning 26 in November. I love teaching English and I've taught English for the past three years. I hold a Bachelor's degree and a TEFL certificate. My accent is neutral and I enjoy teaching students of all ages. I can conduct lessons online or face-to-face depending on the students' preference. Teaching is fun when you love helping people. I love the fact that every day I get to make a positive difference in someone's life forever. I am an experienced English teacher and I have been teaching English since 2011. As far as a further clarification of Special Education, that includes interaction with children facing Special Educational needs such as dyslexia, learning difficulties, loss of concentration, etc. In addition, this field includes children from different cultural and educational backgrounds.

I am a qualified junior/ intermediate teacher who has taught all subject areas except for French. In my BA undergraduate I also was apart of many high school classrooms working with students in the areas of science, religion, and health studies. I love working with children of all ages. I have a triple minor in English, religion, and psychology. I have worked with children ages 5-18 in many aspects of my life including sports (that I coach), and through teaching in the classroom. I've taught 6th and 7th grade so far and this year I'm not quite sure which grade level I'm going to do. Chris finished his undergraduate degree in Drama and Theatre studies at The University of Chester in 2016. He later returned to complete a PGCE in Secondary Drama Education, where having met the required standards, he qualified as an Outstanding Teacher of Drama in 2018. He has previously worked in two UK schools teaching Drama and also has some leadership experience as the Assistant Head of Key Stage 4. He now joins Amnuay Silpa School as a teacher of Drama. Chris’ passion for working with young people began while volunteering as a director for a community youth theatre project in 2010. This initial experience of directing small stage productions has grown exponentially ever since. More recently, he has spent 3 months of the previous 5 years in America working as the Drama programme coordinator at a summer camp in Pennsylvania. These experiences have shaped Chris’ approach to teaching and his pedagogical methods. One particular focus of all Chris’ lessons is promoting pupil voice. He believes educators must ensure that they create the correct conditions needed to foster positive relationships and build productive learning environments in order to achieve this. In terms of being a drama teacher, this means that it is ultimately his responsibility each lesson, to inspire young people to exceed their own expectations by being passionate and knowledgeable, modelling a constant curiosity and love of learning. His goal as a teacher is to foster self-awareness in his classes and encourage student ownership of learning. Within his teaching practice, he takes a progressive approach towards the application of teaching and learning. Inquiry learning, problem based learning, activated learning, dialogue, debate and discussion are all approaches he utilises within his practice. Finally, Chris is an enthusiast for film and video production and the stage; having much experience as an actor, theatre technician and director.

I am an experienced English tutor, with 2 years of tutoring under my belt. Not only do I have a Bachelors of Social Sciences from UCT, majoring in History and English, but a lifelong passion for both subjects as well as Mathematics. Although some students find difficulty or lack of interest in these subjects, I’ve learned to use creative teaching methods that are engaging and fun for the students to keep them interested and engaged while learning. Colourful and easy to read notes are included for students to look over on their own time if they need to. Each student learns in different ways, and I make sure to take this into account while forming customized lessons that will provide a deeper understanding and elevate his or her success in the subject. I live in Norwood, Johannesburg (close to Melrose Arch) but I have a car and am happy to drive out to a more convenient location.
